RIP Terry Clarke
We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of TERRY CLARKE, singer, songwriter and musician and great friend. He was a uniquely talented lyricist and composer who gained the respect of many more well known artists. I worked with him in our early days in Reading right through his singles with my label Stiletto with his band The Domino Effect . After which he spent time in the 90’s in Austin, Texas where he recorded albums with the musicians from the Joe Ely band and built a reputation there, becoming the first the first non native from Austin to play at the then nascent South by South West. Five years ago and 34 years later we reunited to produce the fascinating musical biographical album of the life and times of Frank Sinatra from which this beautiful song is taken.

Very sad news indeed. I’ve long held the view that, as singer/songwriters go Terry Clarke was one of Britain’s best kept secrets. He was also a thoroughly nice guy who always had time to “talk music” with anyone and everyone. The last time I saw him was in the early 1990’s when he combined music with a window cleaning job in Reading. However I’ve collected a number of his albums over the years and he leaves us with a great legacy in that respect.
